Kids Camp

Friday, June 20th ended the 3-day Kids Camp at our WS shop.
Each girl make a pin cushion, a zippered pouch and a apron.
Don't their projects look great.
We are so-o-o proud of each of our participant's and what they accomplished.

Basic Sewing
Use your creativity and take home finished projects of your choice. Basic sewing is for any skill level; beginner to advanced. Choose a project and get help along the way as you enhance your sewing skills and broaden your knowledge. Pj’s, totes, skirts and home decor projects are some of the items you can expect to complete in this 7 week class. Sign up and be ready for some fun! BSR Basics

Star Medallion Quilt

Mexican Star Wall hanging
Learn to make this wall hanging which consists of three dimensional pieced blocks with fold and sew techniques. No round pieces involved, it just looks like it when you are done. THIS IS A ONE DAY CLASS Friday, August 15 10a – 4p OR Saturday, August 16 10a – 4p COST: $50

Stack-N-Whack Lemoyne Star Quilt
Make this fun quilt using one large scale print and one background solid fabric. By using this technique, each of the 12 blocks turns out unique! 2 Fridays – August 29 & September 5th 10a – 4p Cost: $60

Christmas Presents Table Runner
Make this beautiful table runner with ease. Four pieced blocks and a pieced ribbon border. Friday – September 19th 10a – 4p Cost: $50 Teacher: Gina Boone

Beginner Quilting
In this class you will learn to cut, piece blocks, add borders, then machine quilt and bind a small quilt. The class is broken down into three classes to make learning the art of quilting a blast. Learn lots of tips and tricks also. 3 Thursdays – September 4th, 11th & 25th 10a -4 Cost: $65

BINDING
Learn to make and attach double french fold binding, miter the binding corners, how to start and stop for a perfect finish and the easiest way to hand sew the binding down. This is a hands on class and you will be working on your own quilted project. Wednesday August 27 1:30 - 4:00 PM Cost: $ 30 Teacher: Cathy Bogan

Flip Side of the Coin
This reversible quilt is based on the traditional Chinese Coin quilt pattern. Each side of the quilt will have its own color scheme and you will piece one side as you quilt the other side, all in one step. This unique technique is perfect as a first machine quilting project since it greatly reduces the size of the quilt sandwich that needs to be manipulated at the sewing machine. The class will include fabric selection, piecing and quilting instruction, quilting the borders, and creative binding options. (Intermediate level rotary cutting and machine piecing. Judi’s Mat & Ruler Tote
This bag is designed with lots of pockets to carry rulers, cutting mats, pressing mats, hoops and even your Quilters’ Square, to class or retreats. Diana’s Quilt
This beautiful quilt has many elements of design: an on-point center, pieced stars, a floral bouquet and an appliquéd vine of flowers. You may do the appliqué by hand OR with your machine. You will have plenty of borders and a reason to miter corners. Let your imagination run wild. 2 Saturdays August 23 & September27 10 – 4 Cost: $60

Quilt Carry Bag

Purse Challenge Winners
Our WS shop had a very successful Purse Challenge this past spring. Each participant was given a basic purse pattern to build their purse from. They could use any materials and techniques they wished.
Handles were optional.

Summer Table Runner Challenge
It is time to revel the next challenge in the WS shop for our summer sewers. Participants will design a table runner using a fabric of our choice. This fabric MUST be used somewhere on the front of the entry. Size & shape are left to your imagination. Use paint, lace, cording, appliqué, piecing and/or embroidery to create this table runner. Completed table runners are to be turned in by Monday, September 8th. Voting will take place Sept. 9 – 30 and the winners will be announced on October 1st. Come by the shop and receive your kit and other guidelines.

Billie Lauder


Look who is visiting the shop today.
Billie Lauder.
She is having a trunk show in the morning for a roomful of quilter.
Then this afternoon for a select few who signed up early she is teaching an afternoon class.
There will be more pictures tomorrow of some of the beautiful blocks made in class.
