New Classes........

As everyone should know Sew Original has a NEW set of classes being offered over the next 3 months. We now have all the samples for each of the quilt classes up in the shop. Here are a few of them and the write ups describing them. Much planning by our teachers go into providing classes we hope our customers would like to take. Come by the shop and learn more about the classes being offered.


New Orleans Puzzle
A striking design simplified. Sew your strips ahead of time and assemble the main star in class. Add borders and enjoy! This will be one to display proudly on your wall. Saturday, April 11 10a – 4p Teacher: Kim Buterbaugh







Snowball and Nine-Patch
New to quilting? Want to try something that looks complicated, but is really quite simple? This quilt is for you. Learn rotary cutting, strip piecing, applying setting triangles and properly measuring and applying borders as you piece this cozy lap quilt. 2 Tuesdays, April 7th & 28

Confetti in the Corner Quilt
Make this fun and adorable quilt with ease. Pull that wild floral out, pick a few coordinating fabrics and wa-la!

Card Tricks
Learn to make a Card Trick quilt with no tricky triangles. This quilt takes a spin on an old favorite and makes it much easier using all squares and rectangles. Cards can be two or four different fabrics. Add a background and you are ready to go.

STRIP COCKTAIL......a Jelly Roll Quilt
Choose the fabrics of your choice and join us for a day of stress free sewing. Using 2 1/2 inch strips, we will shake them up and mix them up into a cocktail of beautiful blocks that will be the beginning of your crib, lap or twin size quilt. You can precut your own strips………..or choose a jelly roll that contains 2 1/2 inch strips that are already cut for you. SCRAP THERAPY Club Enough already! Are you up to your ears in fabric scraps? Have you had it with bags and boxes of twisted pieces of fabulous quilting fabrics stored away to collect dust? Imagine the stunning scrap quilts you can make….If only you had a plan! You need Scrap Therapy!

*Cutting Workshop
Get ready to get organized! Join us for a hands-on cutting session aimed to get those tangled scraps under control! Sign up once or several times. Each time, receive a free stackable storage bin, chosen specifically to get your fabric scraps in check. Sewing machine not required. The Cutting Workshop is the pre-requisite to any Scrap Therapy quilt project session. Wed., April 15, @ 6 – 8:30 Cost: $12 includes a free bin

KIDS CAN SEW CAMP
Campers will learn basic sewing skills. Ages 9 – 12. We encourage them to bring their own machine or use our Bernina sewing machines. (Please let us know at sign up if they need a machine) Campers bring their lunch & drink each day except the last day, when we will have a pizza party. Camp fee includes all fabrics and supplies. Basic Hand Embroidery
Learn basic hand embroidery stitches such as blanket stitch, feather stitch, herringbone stitch, and stem stitch. Also learn some variations on these stitches, and how they can be applied to anything from old needlework styles such as ribbon embroidery and stump work to quilting techniques such as crazy quilting and appliqué. This class will build on skills and give you the confidence to tackle any hand embroidery you want.
